As you may or may not have noticed, you can now purchase a hard copy of my London Underground book right here, through my website!
And at the moment, I’m in the middle of a tech-support nightmare. I spent all yesterday afternoon on the phone with tech support trying to configure shipping costs—turns out I was doing everything right, EXCEPT, after HOURS of this befuddled dude putting me on hold, BD (Befuddled Dude) told me it would only work if I was using Internet Explorer, version 9.0 or earlier.
Take a minute to think about what crazy bullshit that sounds like. If it sounds nuts to you, please send me a message or leave a comment or something. Tell me I’m not crazy (or if you know the reason for this requirement, please share).
Anyway, the upshot of all this is that I’m making the best of it: a sale! Until I figure this mess out, you get
FREE SHIPPING!
So buy now, before I call in someone who actually knows what they’re doing.
He might be right – I recently updated my computer and was totally perplexed to find that my Comcast/Infinity email wouldn’t work with I.E. 10. Apparently they are working on it. So I am using Firefox for my email.
Your shopping cart software might not have been updated yet to work with I.E. 10.
I have run into the opposite problem also, some new things won’t work with I.E. 8 or earlier, they need I.E. 9 or higher.
Good luck with your sale! Beth (whiteoak on Ravelry)
It sounds crazy … and not. It’s really difficult to make these types of thing work in every browser out there (my office still runs IE6!) so many times they just don’t bother and will only support certain ones. Restricting it to just one version of IE sounds crazy though – what about the Mac users?
Good luck getting it sorted out!
Yeah, I’m with you on the “crazy…and not”. If it only works with IE 9, then it only works on IE 9. Not THAT crazy. What’s crazy is that no one told me that until now, even after hours on the phone with Befuddled Dude. It’s a weird thing to forget to mention, even after I told them I’m a mac user when I first signed up!
